  • Which type of gloves work best for indoor rowing?

Our Scullers and Paddlers are excellent options for indoor rowing depending on your specific needs. Both models are lightweight, breathable, and promote a secure grip on the erg handle. The silicone palm can also help with grip if your hands tend to get sweaty indoors.

Our Scullers have a snug fit and minimal coverage; they are designed to allow the rower as much contact with the erg handles as possible while protecting the most vulnerable parts of the hand from blisters.

Our Paddlers have a bit more of a relaxed fit. The finger loops are slightly roomier and are made of a softer, bonded material rather than elastic. The additional coverage on the fingers and an included pinky are ideal for rowers experiencing blisters higher up on their fingers.

  • I row both port and starboard. Which type of gloves should I buy?

Purchasing a pair of Scullers and a pair of Sweeps will allow you to switch between port and starboard.

  • How do I best care for my gloves?

Care instructions can be found on the label: Machine wash cold water, lay flat to dry.

Velcro wrist straps should always be closed/secured when gloves are not in use or being washed to prevent warping, bending, and/or collection of debris.

For machine washing, we recommend our mesh glove bags to further extend your gloves' longevity.

  • What size gloves should I order?

Measure the circumference of your palm at the widest point with your fingers outstretched.

If you're on the border between two sizes and your fingers or wrists are thick, go with the larger size.

    Unisex Size Palm Circumference
    X-Small < 18 cm
    Small 18 - 19.5 cm
    Medium 19.5 - 21 cm
    Large 21 - 22.5 cm
    X-Large 22.5 - 24 cm
    XX-Large 24 cm +

  • My new gloves fit well, but the elastic on the fingers feels tight. Should I go up a size?

Our newest models of Scullers and Sweeps have a stronger elastic material on the finger straps than ever before. They may feel tight at first, but will relax slightly in as little as ten minutes of rowing. Before trying them on, we recommend tugging a few times on each elastic finger strap to ensure a comfortable fit for your first row.

If stretching out the elatic does not help and the gloves are quite snug overall, we can help you exchange for a larger size. Please fill out the contact form on this page below or contact us at support@thecrewstop.com for exchanges.
